Bodie And Mono Lake, CA (B/W)
56 images Created 14 Dec 2009
Bodie, CA is located at 8500ft in the Eastern Sierra mountains above the Mono Lake basin and thirty miles or so east of Yosemite National Park. One of the better preserved ghost towns of the west, I have photographed it on several occasions over the past twenty years. In this recent gallery the emphasis was to utlize the Lensbaby 3G as my primary lens. The Lensbaby truly forces one to examine the world in a different way (as the Lensbaby site and advertising moto claims). Bodie has always been a favorite place no matter what time of year it is. I've found a new perspective on the artifacts and weathered structures everytime I visit. The Mono Lake images were taken in October of 2006 and March 2012 with an incoming storms about to pound the Sierras. The tufa structures along the Mono lake shorline are always interesting to photograph. I found these afternoons a bit wind swept and covered by foreboding clouds. All images in this gallery have custom black and white treatments applied. If color versions are desired please view the Bodie And Mono Lake, CA gallery.
