Images in this gallery were photographed in mid October 2012. This was my first visit to the Great Smoky Mountains and I should have made this visit many years sooner. Fortunately the timing for fall color was perfect for the lower elevations and still good for the upper making for some great images. The variety of trees in this area are beyond belief which adds to the staggering effect of color found there in the autumn. I found the over abundance of streams and small cascades throughout the area a photographer's dream. It has been an extensive editing project and post processing job to narrow down nearly 1200 images to these.
